OLD MASTERS MEDIUM AND BALSAM

We are glad to introduce two new products, which you can find on this website in the section “SPIRITS, SOLVENTS, BALSAMS, MEDIUMS” (http://www.x-brain.it/zecchi_ing/cat/spirits-solvents-balsams/). They may hold interest for artists who follow old traditional techniques.

The “MEDIUM ANTICHI MAESTRI” (OLD MASTERS MEDIUM - Item 3282) is obtained from a 17th Century formula, handed down to us by Marc Dalessio. Its components are Canada Balsam, Sun Thickened Linseed Oil and Turpentine.

The other new product which we are to introduce is “BALSAMO VENETO” (VENETO BALSAM - Item 3241). It is the true original Venice Larch Turpentine, very different from the one (adulterated) that can be usually found on the market. It’s a limited production-balsam, extracted from larch trees that grow in the Alps north of Venice. The “BALSAMO VENETO” looks a little darker than Canada Balsam, and it is in fact the one that was used by Venetian Masters of the 16th and 17th Centuries.
